Sport England powers employee engagement with Interact

  • Award winning UK public sector body sees significant uptick in knowledge sharing
  • Over 93% of all content and knowledge is created and shared by employees rather than traditional author groups

[Manchester, UK – 25 April 2016] Sport England, the public body which provides services and funding to sport bodies and not-for-profit organisations in England, reports a significant uptick in employee engagement, powered by its Interact intelligent intranet software. In less than 18 months the organisation has surpassed its collaboration objectives, with over 93% of all content and knowledge being created and shared by employees rather than traditional author groups.

Tanya Joseph, Executive Director Business Partnerships at Sport England, commented:

“Staff feedback in late 2013 revealed that colleagues felt we could collaborate more and be better at sharing across the business. They told us that they got enough ‘top-down’ information but they wanted better ways to pick up on what was going on across the organisation. So, we made collaboration between colleagues much easier with our refreshed intranet.”

The Sport England team has been able to reduce barriers to engagement across the organisation by changing its culture and encouraging employees to share knowledge across the intranet. Users benefit from the platform’s ease of use and intelligent functionality, which reduces siloes and delivers the most relevant information to employees.

Nigel Williams, Head of Customer Insight at Interact, said, “The Sport England intranet is a shining example of how an organisation can boost collaboration and drive user-led content using an intelligent platform. In just a year and a half the results have been absolutely brilliant and signal a complete change of culture, giving the employee base the opportunity to collaborate and take a greater role in the organisation’s direction. It demonstrates the true power of Interact as a tool for intelligent collaboration.”

Sport England has recently been recognised for its phenomenal employee engagement achievements and the value its intranet delivers to users at the Ragan Employee Engagement Awards. The win complements a host of Interact’s award-winning global customers that are using Interact as their go to solution to successfully engage employees. Current and previous award winners include William Grant, which was recognised at the Ragan Awards for having the best intranet design for employee engagement, Arriva (DB Group) and the Dorchester Collection in the UK Employee Engagement Awards and ASPCA was awarded in the ‘best technology for non profit’ category at the US Employee Engagement Awards.
