Interact restores intranet confidence at Bron Afon Community Housing

Bron Afon Community Housing has chosen Interact to replace their inadequate and poorly performing intranet with an easy to use, DDA ‘AA’ compliant intranet solution. Interact will improve communication and collaboration amongst Bron Afon’s 400 members of staff.

Bron Afon had been using their previous solution for around 18 months, but it had failed to live up to expectations as staff found it difficult to use and administer. This resulted in a lack of confidence between users and the intranet and consequently a loss of enthusiasm and low usage. Coupled with this, inadequate support and back up from the software provider resulted in Bron Afon taking the bold but vital step to replace their intranet.

It was crucial that they implemented a new solution that staff could engage with and would find easy to use. It was critical that any new solution was successful because if the new intranet failed there was a risk that they would never regain staff confidence and any attempt to implement an intranet would always turn out to be a losing proposition.

They carried out user surveys and research to find out what their staff wanted and needed from the intranet and invited tenders from a selection of providers. A detailed product specification was drawn up against which prospective suppliers were measured. Following presentations from three shortlisted companies, they chose Interact.

Interact not only met all their requirements in terms of ease of use, functionality and value for money but, of equal importance given their previous experiences, Bron Afon were reassured and impressed by Interact’s partnership approach. Their expertise and knowledge of housing sector intranets and their consultative approach throughout the design, build and implementation stages and beyond gave Bron Afon confidence that their intranet stood every chance of success.
