16th August 2011 – Interact has been selected by US based non-profit organisation, Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) to provide its global intranet and connect its 1,100 staff, geographically spread across the USA and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Interact Intranet was selected as the leading intranet software provider out of a number of global finalists following an in-depth selection process where all platforms were rated according to: user-interface, virtual teams and collaboration, communication, search, social networking and workflow. Interact Intranet’s ability to operate using a low-bandwidth connection was crucial in the selection process for their work-force in Africa.
The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation announced its new intranet to employees at an internal conference held in Nairobi in May and rolled out the system in July.
Sara Teitelman, Senior Technical Editor at the Foundation, said:
“We felt that Interact Intranet was the most user-friendly solution among those we looked at. It also had the richest collection of features ‘out of the box’ and for that reason would give us the ability to get the new system up and running in a short period of time without the need to hire developers.
“Perhaps most importantly, Interact made it clear that they see themselves as our partner, and have been actively supporting us at every step of the way so far to implement the new system. We are confident that this software will be a powerful tool helping us to achieve our organizational knowledge management objectives, and ultimately make us more efficient and effective towards achieving our goal of eliminating pediatric AIDS in the 17 countries where we work.”
Interact’s CEO and Founder, Nigel Danson commented:
“Helping a charity as important as the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation is a real privilege and when working with people as dedicated, prepared and focused as their intranet team it becomes a pleasure as well. One of the biggest communication challenges faced by the Foundation was its geographical spread across both the USA and Sub-Saharan Africa – a challenge that Interact Intranet will excel at.
We have already been working onsite at their offices in Washington, D.C. and have successfully delivered a number of remote training and consultancy sessions to their staff, which have rapidly allowed us to architect content and train staff in the tools required to manage their intranet.
We’re really excited to be working with the Foundation as they continue their mission to eliminate pediatric AIDS and we are certain that Interact Intranet’s ease-of-use and collaborative features will successfully unite their workforce.”
