Front End Developer

We’re looking for a smart, self-motivated and passionate Web UI developer to join our talented engineering team to develop rich, intelligent Intranet solutions for a platform with a worldwide active user base of 1 million and growing

About the role


Team members work directly with product owners and stakeholders across the business in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment. We constantly strive to improve the way we work, adopting techniques such as TDD/BDD and pair programming as appropriate. As a team member you will participate in all team meetings and ceremonies, provide input and feedback and take ownership on identified improvements and new features.

A little about you...

  • Practically demonstrated experience working in an Agile development team
  • Experience of building, debugging and testing complex web application front-end to support popular modern browsers
  • HTML5
  • Javascript, including libraries & frameworks (eg. jquery, underscore, angular, vue.js)
  • CSS, including frameworks (eg. bootstrap) & preprocessors (eg. less, sass)
  • Experience with front-end package management and build tools (eg. npm, bower, gulp, grunt, webpack)
  • Knowledge & appreciation of web application security and threat mitigation
  • Responsive and mobile design
  • Typescript experience
  • Javascript unit testing
  • Experience working with a Microsoft web application stack (ASP.NET MVC/Web API/Web Forms)
  • Visual Studio
  • Git

Your responsibilities

  • Working within an Agile/Continuous Delivery environment you’ll focus on building functional, performant, secure and scalable web-based user interface for our modern intranet & communications platform
  • Work with and mentor our backend developers to nurture and reinforce whole stack development capability across the team
  • Work closely with our User Experience and Design team to realise highly usable user interface
  • Contribute to responsible selection, evaluation and validation of modern web technologies to help our platform evolve
  • Champion and instil best-practice techniques in front-end application architecture and development
